Day four.
Howdy people, it’s day four of the small potatoes project and I already feel like I’m flagging a bit. To be fair to me I’ve not long since had surgery but I can sense the old habit of beating myself up for not ‘performing right’ kicking in. Today’s sketch is well, sketchy, but I still showed up and that’s the main thing.
This cat very much reminds me of my old mind set, before my year of healing, I was full steam ahead. It didn’t matter if my body was telling me to slow down, I’d power on through anyway. My calendar was rammed every month even when I said I wanted to take more time to think. It effected my creativity as well as my physical body. Well, I’m drawing a line under that, things are definitely different now and its only taken completely slowing down to a creep for me to start noticing the signs.
Today has been a good day, its the first day since surgery that I’ve managed to go for a short walk and meet a friend I hadn’t seen in months. I’ve also made some nourishing homemade soup - perfect for this chilly November day. I’m feeling the effect of these activities now though, and thats ok, I’m only human. I think I’m due a cat nap.
See you tomorrow.
Lots of loaf,
Ruth xx
