Small potatoes creative project.

Day five.

It’s blummin’ freezing in my house at the moment so I’m holed up, wrapped in various layers of knitwear and drinking copious amounts of tea. All this cosiness has got me thinking about the little moments of joy we can experience daily.

I love tea and toast and I do actually have a preference for which plate and cup I use. I find its the details which can elevate a simple everyday activity.

I very rarely use a teapot as it can sometimes take me a while to drink just one cup but here’s a little cat themed tea pot design I’ve dreamed up and which I intend on create when I can work with clay again. It will be a small little kitty, perfect for one or two cups. Maybe I should learn how to knit a blanket to keep it warm. My cats love to keep warm, they’re always seek out the sun patches in the house. Talking about cosy tea cats, I once put a novelty tea cosy cardigan on my cat Dill. She looked so cute, furious, but cute (don’t worry, I took it straight off her afterwards). If I ever find the photo I’ll post it on here.

I loved making mugs when I was still attending art fairs but I never tried making a teapot. I think a lot of people have their favourite cup or mug to drink out of, I know I do. What’s your favourite drink of choice, and do you have a favourite receptacle to drink it from?

See you back here tomorrow for another cat themed sketch.

Lots of loaf,
Ruth xx
